As a leading wildfire management organization, WDS offers the expertise of fire professionals with over 35 years of wildfire experience, including fire management experience with federal and state agencies.
Which States Offer Wildfire Defense Services?
Enrollment in our Wildfire Defense Services is available to Chubb homeowners policyholders in the states of AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, ID, MT, ND, NM, NV, OK, OR, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, WA, and WY. This offer applies to homeowner’s policyholders insured by all Chubb underwriting companies.
What Happens if My Home Is Threatened by a Wildfire?
By enrolling in Chubb's Wildfire Defense Services, you'll receive monitoring, prevention, and mitigation services to help keep your family and home protected from the potentially devastating effects of wildfires.
Here are a few highlights of our Wildfire Defense Services:
Before Wildfire Season (Year-Round Service)
A Chubb Risk Consultant can provide a personalized wildfire hazard assessment (available upon request), with specific recommendations for how to protect your home in the event of a wildfire. For example, they can help recommend ways to reduce the fuel around your home that may feed a wildfire (e.g., combustible materials like woodpiles or grass welcome mats) or identify other protective measures, like installing water tanks, pumps, or sprinkler systems that can be used in the event of a wildfire.
As a Wildfire Approaches
Working with you to proactively defend your home. Deploying certified fire professionals to your home if a wildfire is threatening your area.
After the Threat Has Passed
Return combustible material and other items that may have been temporarily relocated, as well as removing any fire-blocking gel that may have been applied to the home. During this time, WDS would be available to answer any questions you may have around our response. And, of course, we can help you process a claim if your home sustained any damage.
Chubb Wildfire Defense Services Enrollment
Chubb Wildfire Defense Services is offered at no additional charge to eligible homeowners insurance policyholders — but you must enroll to take advantage of this important service. There are three convenient ways you can enroll:
- Download the “Chubb Mobile” app from the App Store or Play Store, then go to the Catastrophe Services Center. For step-by-step directions, watch this video.
- Visit the Catastrophe Services Center on the Chubb Client Portal. (Login Required)
- Complete the online Wildfire Defense Enrollment DocuSign Authorization Form
- Download and print the Wildfire Defense Enrollment Authorization Form then email to [email protected] or mail to the addresses below.

Wildfire Defense Services are triggered only when a wildfire is within three miles of a residence, when a civil authority initiates an evacuation order as a result of an approaching wildfire, or when Chubb deems it appropriate to deploy the service because of an encroaching wildfire.
